Parents & guardians are you looking for a fun summer learning experience for your child? Is your child ready to explore their college and career options? Summer Reach 2017 is the program for your family!

Summer Reach is the Louisville Urban League Youth Development & Education Department’s signature summer learning experience for 9th – 12th grade youth excited to:

– explore their college and career opportunities through multiple field trips to college campuses and businesses as well as cultural enrichment activities 

– set academic and personal goals

– learn financial lietarcy from college financial aid and banking professionals

– network with other high school students, college students, and professionals

– connect to community and business resources

Summer Reach runs Monday, June 5 – Thursday, June 29 at 9:00am – 4:00pm Monday through Thursday. Youth must arrive by 9:00am at the Louisville Urban League, 1535 W Broadway. Program ends at 4:00pm, pick up is no later than 5:00pm.

Parents/guardians must attend the Summer Reach Parent Orientation on Friday, May 19th at 6:00pm – 7:30pm. Payment for your child(s) participation is due at orientation. Participation fee is $100 for the first child. Each additional child in family is $90 each. The participation fee includes: 2 program t-shirts, continental breakfast, lunch, snacks, and admission fees. TARC tickets are provided.

– Colleges: University of Louisville (main campus and health sciences campus), University of Kentucky, Jefferson Community & Technical College, Simmons College, Spalding University, Sullivan University, Kentucky State University, University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, Western Kentucky University, Eastern Kentucky University, Bellarmine University, and Indiana University Southeast

– Businesses: Courier Journal, Toyota, Ford, Humana, AT&T, UPS, 5/3 Bank, WHAS 11, Amazon, Glassworks, Geek Squad/Best Buy, Sky Zone, Chef Space, Interapt, Kentucky Telco, Indatus, GE Firstbuild, and Water Company

– Cultural Enrichment: Parklands of Floyds Fork, Muhammad Ali Center, Samuel Plato Academy, Falls of the Ohio, Greater Cincinnati Urban League, Underground Railroad Museum, Animal Services Shelter, Metro Safe 9-11 Call Center, American Printing House for the Blind, Corvette Museum, Newport Aquarium, and Southwest Regional Library

– Workshops: Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), Kentuckiana Works, Junior Achievement, Comedy Improv, Yoga, Entreprenuership, and Golf
