Home Ownership Counseling
Homeownership Counseling is one-on-one counseling with a Housing Counselor. Homeownership Counseling offers a personalized work plan to help you with your home buying goals. One-on-one comprehensive counseling gives participants an individualized budget and credit counseling sessions. At your first appointment, upon completing the 2.5 hour FIT class/ orientation, we will review and discuss your financial documents such as bank statements, pay stubs, and tax returns, pull and discuss your tri-merge credit report from all three credit bureau which will includes your FICO score, prepare a budget, and develop an action plan that will help you meet your desired goals of becoming a homeowner. The goal of counseling is to help you address and remove barriers to homeownership.
There is a one-time enrollment fee for Homeownership Counseling. Credit report fees are charged each time a new credit report is obtained. If you are inactive for 1 year, you will be required to re-apply and will be assessed a new fee as well as retake the FIT group education class.
