LOUISVILLE, Ky. — City officials and local McDonald’s restaurants awarded a group of high school students with scholarships Tuesday.This was part of the 2018 Black History Makers of Tomorrow program.
Ten students each received $1,500 scholarships toward college in recognition of their leadership, character and community service.
The students also got some inspiring words from Louisville Urban League CEO Sadiqa Reynolds, who said these young people are the hope for a better future.
All of the scholarship recipients have been accepted into the colleges of their choice. McDonald’s received more than 200 applications from students of area high schools.
