Youth Education Programs

The Louisville Urban League’s Center for Education & Youth Development equips young people with the knowledge, skills, experiences, and support they need to succeed in school, careers, and life. Serving students from kindergarten through high school, we provide high-quality academic enrichment, college and career readiness, leadership development, mentoring, and family engagement opportunities that remove barriers and expand possibilities.

We believe that when students have access to caring adults, meaningful learning experiences, and the right resources at the right time, they develop the confidence, resilience, and skills to achieve their goals. By partnering with families, schools, businesses, and community organizations, we create pathways that prepare young people to graduate ready for college, careers, and lifelong success while strengthening our community for generations to come.

Intensive Tutoring

Through our intensive tutoring program, the Louisville Urban League provides a direct response to the academic achievement gap that has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Participants are required to adhere to the prescribed tutoring schedule associated with the approved tutoring agency.  We currently offer tutoring through our partnerships with Kumon Learning Centers.

Project Ready

Project Ready is the Louisville Urban League Education & Empowerment team’s signature out-of-school-time program for students in grades 9 – 12. Over the course of a year students will be prepared to successfully transition from high school to college by completing college coaching assessments, practicing professional skills, and exploring college options.
