The Urban League provides school-aged youth with the pathway to becoming successful academically, personally, and socially. The key to this success is an initiative called NULITES(National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed), our brand for Youth Development and Education programs.

Louisville Urban League with the help of local sponsors offer the 8-hour Homebuyer Education Group class. This comprehensive class is for families that want to become homeowners. In this class, you will learn about the home buying process. Homebuyer Education class is composed of three evening sessions from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm.
Homebuyer Education is taught by HUD- Certified Housing Counselors and industry specialists in the fields of mortgage lending, home insurance, realtors, and home inspectors, and closing agents to explain the ins and outs of the home buying process. This course focuses on understanding the real estate contracts, home inspections, home maintenance, homeowners insurance, completing a residential loan application, the loan closing process, and Rent vs. Buying, and Fair Housing. You must be participating in the Homeownership Counseling Program to be enrolled in this class OR you can sign up for the HOMEBUYER EXPRESS for $99.00 ($149.00 for married couples). You are a good candidate for Homebuyer Express if:
- You have met with a lender about getting a home loan and are pre-approved
- You have no outstanding collections or judgments
- Your FICO credit score is 640 or higher
- You have a savings of $2,000 or more
- You qualify for Down Payment Assistance
If you do not meet the above criteria, you may want to start with our FIT class/orientation and proceed with our Homeownership Counseling Program. The next homebuyer education class will be held in March 2019. Enroll NOW, space is limited.

You must be participating in the Homeownership Counseling Program to be enrolled in this class for free. If you are not a Homeownership Counseling participant, you must purchase a Homebuyer Express ticket.

On March 19, 2019, the Louisville Urban League will host a community conversation with updates on the Louisville Urban League Sports and Learning Complex. This important meeting will be an opportunity for community residents and project supporters to learn about the progress of the project, view updated site renderings, and offer suggestions on finishes for the facility.
“We want the community to see the progress we’ve made on the project,” said Sadiqa Reynolds, President and CEO of the Louisville Urban League. “So many people have supported this project and we want them to see what’s coming to our neighborhood. This facility will be a lasting part of the community- I’m excited, and I believe they will be too.“
Members from the design team will be on hand to answer questions and provide insight on the project. We are inviting the community to join us and learn more about this game-changing facility:
