A new report shows Louisville has remained stagnant since the city-county merger in comparison to peer cities.

The study by the Greater Louisville Project measured education, 21st-century jobs, health and quality of place.

It found the city dropped most in terms of health.

Louisville was compared to cities like Nashville, Indianapolis and Charlotte.

The overarching theme of the report concluded the city has avoided its worst fears but has yet to achieve its highest goals.

“We have to think long-term,” Louisville Urban League CEO Sadiqa Reynolds said. “We have to invest in people that society has thrown away. Workforce folks have got to step up. Our employers have got to do more.”

City leaders said the data showed the need for the private, public and nonprofit sectors to work together to have a shared vision on how to move forward.
