Resources for Older Adults and Caregiveres

  1. University of Louisville’s Trager Institute has a free program to help older adults who have some depressive symptoms. Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) is a free program for adults age 60+. The program is designed to help tackle overwhelming life issues and help people feel better. To contact them, please call (502) 588-4340 #2  or email Alison Hanlein at [email protected].
  2. Elderserve offers a variety of services for seniors. One that could be helpful during this time of social distancing due to the coronavirus is their “Telecare” program. This program is for seniors 60+ who live alone and would benefit from having someone call to check in with them on a daily basis. A senior can sign up to have weekday “wellness checks”. Someone from Elderserve will call the senior daily to check in and make sure they are doing okay. It also has the added benefit of a social connection to someone on a daily basis. The Elderserve website has more information elderserveinc.org/services/telecare. To contact someone in the telecare program, please call Keeley Rhodes at (502) 373-3339 or email [email protected].
  3. For Caregivers of Older Adults If you or someone you know is a caregiver for someone 60+, the Trager Institute has a free program that offers support. Their program includes help with problem-solving issues that arise as a caregiver, a virtual support group, and assistance in connecting to resources.    Contact information for this program is by phone (502) 588-3322  or email [email protected].
