Cerenity’s Success Story
As a Breonna Taylor Legacy Fellow, Cerenity Green has shown a commitment to advancing justice and meaningful community advocacy. Through her University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law advisor, Hon. Lonita Baker, she connected with the Louisville Urban League for a summer internship in our Policy Department, where her duties included researching anti-displacement strategies and developing a plain-language budget to help citizens understand financial documents.
As a third-year law student, Cerenity plans to work in contract law. She feels the policy work she did under the guidance of Felicia Nu’Man, Director of Justice & Policy Initiatives at the Urban League, helped her hone her research skills and provided real-world experiences she can apply to contracts, including how to review them thoroughly and efficiently.
“I feel that the opportunity to work with the Urban League is beneficial and [other law students] can benefit from the experience, especially having Felicia as a mentor and teaching you how to write legal briefs.”
