Health Education & Policy
Your Health Is More Than Just a Check-Up.
At the Louisville Urban League, we believe wellness means supporting the whole person. That’s why our health programs focus on the real-life factors that shape your well-being—from housing and employment to food access and mental health.
We’re here to help you with:
Chronic conditions • Dental care • Nutrition support • Health education • Housing resources • Mental health services • Finding a doctor • Combating social isolation • Substance use support • Job readiness • Navigating violence or abuse

A Healthier Path Forward
A Healthier Path Forward represents a significant stride towards addressing childhood obesity and its systemic roots in the West End community. By fostering innovation, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, this program aims to create lasting change and equitable health outcomes for future generations in Louisville.
Project Kilimo
Project Kilimo is a new urban farming initiative, launched through a USDA-funded partnership with the National Urban League. In collaboration with Sankofa Community Farm in Philadelphia, Project Kilimo supports Black urban farmers in Louisville’s West End by providing land access, cultural education, and resources to grow healthy, chemical-free food. This pilot program not only builds food sovereignty and economic opportunity—it reconnects communities to the land, to each other, and to a healthier future.

It Starts With Me!
Community Health Program
LUL recognizes there are many services, initiatives, and organizations doing good work, but they are not reaching many of the people who need them. “It starts with me!” is the missing connector; making it easier for individuals and their families to access the services they need to live healthier, happier, lifestyles.

COVID-19 VACCINE INFORMATION
COVID-19 is still here, but so is the protection you need. Updated COVID-19 vaccines targeting the latest strains are safe, effective and available now! Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. We have compiled a list of local health center and pharmacy locations where you can receive the vaccine.

Mental & Dental Copay Assistance
Your well-being matters—and cost shouldn’t be a barrier to care. We offer copay assistance for mental health services and dental visits to help ease the financial burden and keep you on track toward better health. Let us help you take care of you—mind, body, and smile.
