Workforce Partnerships: Partner with the League to Expand Your Labor Pool
The Center for Workforce Development helps connect individuals seeking career opportunities with employers. We create job pathways for underserved communities, provide employment training, cultivate a skilled talent pipeline, and provide post-placement support. Through our business partnerships, we can facilitate job placement referrals across varied career fields. These partnerships help create a diverse workforce and strengthen connections with the community.
Areas of Interest
- Construction & Skilled Trades: The Kentuckiana Builds program provides hands-on training for skilled trades jobs. Graduates earn four national credentials: NCCER, First Aid/CPR/AED, ATTSA Flagger Credential, and OSHA-10.
- Non-profit & Government: The Urban Seniors Jobs Program (USJP) provides subsidized, service-based training for low-income persons 55 or older. Participants are placed at area nonprofit and government agencies to upgrade their current skills for re-entry into the workforce.
- Healthcare: We provide training subsidies to healthcare career institutes that provide training in CNA, phlebotomy, EKG, and medication aid. And career placement at area medical centers.
- Financial Services: Career pathway information and employment connections in the financial services sector, including relationship banking, customer service, sales, payroll, and retirement plan specialists.
- Business Relations: Fostering new connections in growing employment sectors in Louisville.
Our Job Coaches provide free career counseling services, including resume review, interview preparation, career training, employment pre-screening, and assistance with transportation or childcare. We continue engagement through post-placement support, providing ongoing employee assistance, mentoring, and helping with workplace adjustments to promote long-term success and increase employee retention.
