The Single Point of Entry office and Prevention and Diversion teams will move to phone calls only beginning Monday, March 16. No face-to-face meetings or walk-in appointments will be held beginning next week. We respectfully request that you suspend the need for picture IDs at shelter check-in, since we will not be making picture IDs in the office.
We do not have back-up staff members, and our call center and prevention/diversion staff need to stay healthy so we can continue to serve as many clients as possible, especially now. As such, our staff members will remain in the office but will be working with clients via phone and email. Our phone lines will remain open seven days a week from 10 am – 4 pm.
Please see phone numbers and points of contact for specific services:

SCAM ALERT
A repeat of a scam last reported in April 2019, has been witnessed again in lower income neighborhoods in Louisville, and possibly Lexington. A local reporter confronted an alleged scammer on video.
In 2019, The Kentucky attorney general’s office has issued a scam alert regarding a “suspicious van” and reports of a group paying cash for DNA and health insurance information. The AG’s office is urging anyone who has turned over their info to call Medicaid’s fraud hotline.
Please share this information and explain to people they should not consent to this ploy:
- There have been reports of a possible scam targeting individuals experiencing homelessness
- Scammers are offering cash, gift cards, and other items in return for collecting cheek swabs for cancer-screening tests
- They are told DNA swabs will be covered by health insurance, but there is no evidence that there is any follow-up
- Each cheek swab is potentially worth up to $8,000 in insurance payouts for the lab conducting the test
