The Louisville Urban League is proud to present the 9th Annual Derby Gala, our most prestigious event of the year. Last year, the event featured Grammy-nominated artist Janelle Monáe! We are not ready to announce the artist yet, but this year guarantees to be a showstopper!

Since 1920, the League has assisted Black people and other marginalized communities in attaining social and economic equality through direct services and advocacy. We invite you to join us as a sponsor or participant and help empower people and change lives while celebrating Derby! Since our last Gala, we’ve made tremendous strides in empowering and uplifting our community. We’ve enrolled over 600 more students in intensive tutoring programs, assisted more than 300 Black entrepreneurs on their journey to successful business ownership, and seen our craft skills training program, Kentuckiana Builds, graduate its 600th participant and helped more than 100 first-time homeowners.
