Dear Friend,

Louisville’s aging infrastructure and the challenges it presents to MSD has been widely reported on by local media outlets. We have all experienced flooded roadways, and known those with flooded homes and sewer backups into those homes. Having an effective waste water treatment and storm water management system is one of the most basic public safety and protection issues and if we are not able to address some of the challenges our current system face, our city will not be able to experience the types of economic growth and opportunities we are all working towards.

That is why I’m inviting you to join with me and other community leaders for a meaningful dialog on the impact MSD’s aging infrastructure is having on our community. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn more about MSD’s plan to address these issues and steps the agency is taking to move its plans forward. Additionally, because resolving these challenges will come with a price tag, careful consideration must be given on how to involve and assist those with limited means.

I hope you’ll join me and MSD Executive Director Tony Parrott on Thursday, March 16th at 9:00 am for this important conversation. This event will be held at the Louisville Urban League-1535 West Broadway and breakfast will be provided. Please RSVP by Monday, March 13th.

Thank you and I hope to see you there.
