KINSHIP CARE CONFERENCE

What: “Grandparents Raising Grandchildren and Kinship Family Conference,” an event that will include talks on the family court system, helping children cope with separation from parents and dealing with addiction. 

When: May 18, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway in Louisville

 Keynote speaker: Adria Johnson, commissioner of the state Department for Community Based Services, which oversees foster care and placement of children who have been removed from homes because of abuse or neglect.

Cost: Free, but registration is required.
