Kentuckians For The Commonwealth, Louisville Urban League, BLM Louisville, the National Panhellenic Council, and others will hold a statewide lobby day and rally at the Kentucky State Capitol Annex on Thursday, February 29, 2024. The lobbying portion will take place that morning – with members and allies traveling across the state in locally organized car-a-vans – for a culminating rally at 2:00pm that afternoon. This event is to mobilize collective action around bills SB6, SB9, SB93, HB5, HB9 and SB80, as well as inspire folks (especially youth) to organize for their communities and run for political office!

As we have watched this general session, so many of us have said “these bills are attacking us!” – and we know it’s true. From attacking students’ access to voting, to striking DEI and Trauma Informed Care, to criminalizing homelessness – one thing is for sure: to turn the tide, we must STAND UNITED.

That is what this call to action – or rather, “call to solidarity” – is for: to bring people together, share their stories, and create the change we NEED. We need passionate people and their voices to join us in Frankfort. The work does not end there, as this is a first step for the long haul, but it is a step in bringing organizers, advocates and activists together.

Note: use the “Justice” category and then make a note at end of submission for “New KY”
