New Roots Food Justice Workshop: The State of Food Justice
February 28, 2017 @ 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM UTC-5
The State of Food Justice in our Region
Many families in Louisville and southern Indiana—especially those facing limited resources—have a difficult time accessing the farm fresh food we all need to be happy and healthy. This situation is becoming increasingly dire as Krogers Corporation abandons our urban core neighborhoods. Has our region always struggled with this type of food injustice? Why do people who struggle with limited resources have to shop at “programs” and everyone else shops at markets? What is our shared history of cooperative economics and how can we use this strategy today to feed ourselves?
Come share your personal food stories, listen to others’ stories, and build this movement of fresh food for all! Get organized for the 2017 growing season. Find out how to volunteer and lead this movement. We cannot do this without you!
