Louisville Urban League presents Workforce Wednesdays.
In 60 minutes, develop the critical skills that can enhance your career, enrich relationships and sharpen your leadership capacities.
Led by the region’s top corporate recruiters, skilled human resources professionals, life skills and leadership coaches, CEOs, and Meyers Briggs certified trainers, Workforce Wednesday workshop topics include interviewing skills, communication skills, teamwork, conflict resolution, adaptability, problem-solving, workplace ethics, self-awareness, and more.

Meet Ashley N. Duncan, CDP (She/Her/Hers/Ella)

Sharpen Your Interviewing Skills
Ashley N. Duncan is the Diversity Hiring Specialist at Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). She has the privilege of supporting the Diversity Equity and Poverty and Human Resource Department by ensuring equity, diversity and access in recruiting, hiring and promotion of all persons. Through her leadership JCPS now has its first Best Practice Hiring Guide.
A Louisville native, Ashley launched her career at the age of 14 as a summer intern at the Transit Authority of River City (TARC). Ashley maintained her working relationship with TARC through high school and college working in every department. She served in the inaugural position as Director of Diversity and Inclusion and Civil Rights Program Manager before leaving TARC after 19 years of service.
Ashley earned her Master of Science in Business Communication from Spalding University and has a National Diversity Certification. Among her many awards are the Mary B. Ransom Scholarship in Excellence from Spalding University, the Rising Flame Award from the Business Professional Women Network and the Statewide Aspiring Professional Award. Ashley was a 2015 Business First Forty Under 40 Honoree, a 2015 NFocus Magazine New Face of Philanthropy, and a MASS Transit 2017 Forty Under 40 Honoree. She participated in the 2017 Leadership Louisville Class and is a member of the 2020 Bingham Fellows.
Ashley enjoys working with children as well as teaching the importance of cultivating diversity and volunteerism. Ashley has served on the boards of directors of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, the Junior League of Louisville and Louisville Lemonade Day, and currently serves on the Metro United Way Board of Directors.
Ashley has been married to her best friend, Desmond Duncan, for over nine years, and has two daughters, Mckinley Grace and Spencer Ann. One of the many philosophies that Ashley lives by is “Be the change you want to see in the world.” – Gandhi
