Louisville Urban League presents Workforce Wednesdays.
In 60 minutes, develop the critical skills that can enhance your career, enrich relationships and sharpen your leadership capacities.

Led by the region’s top corporate recruiters, skilled human resources professionals, life skills and leadership coaches, CEOs, and Meyers Briggs certified trainers, Workforce Wednesday workshop topics include interviewing skills, communication skills, teamwork, conflict resolution, adaptability, problem-solving, workplace ethics, self-awareness, and more.

Workforce Wednesdays are offered on the first and third Wednesdays of every month from noon to 1:00 p.m.  Please register by getting your FREE ticket below. On the day of the event, sign in early.  Sure–bring your lunch!

Meet our Presenters: Keionna Baker and Cherena Fox 

Collectively, Keionna and Cherena have years of experience cultivating and working in diverse workspaces. With experience working in education, on diverse teams and, with an array of students, from Kentucky to California, Keionna and Cherena have gained the skills, experience, and knowledge to create highly effective and interactive workshops. Both have taught and consulted with the development of after-school programs in underprivileged communities with the intention of bridging cultural and racial gaps.

While working in these diverse environments helped to mold their passion, it was working in spaces that challenged their idea of inclusivity, that prompted them to not only “do the work,” but also, push other companies and people to “do the work” to shift their mindsets towards creating more inclusive spaces. Hence, becoming the voices of the many people who experience the feeling of being the “only one” daily.

In 2019, Keionna & Cherena co-founded The Elephant in the Room after heading a diversity and inclusion initiative at one of Louisville’s premier collaborative workplaces. Through their personal career experiences, they quickly realized that companies, small and large, not only needed training in what diversity and inclusion looked and felt like but also needed guidance in how to have conversations otherwise considered taboo. Thus, The Elephant in the Room, an interactive diversity & inclusion platform that focuses on empathy, accountability, and change in the workplace. The Elephant in the Room’s unique, interactive workshop style, results in strategies to help mitigate bias in the workplace and beyond.
