Home Ownership Counseling
One-on-one Home Ownership Counseling with a Housing Counselor
With Homeownership Counseling, we can help you reach your home buying goals by providing comprehensive, individualized budget and credit counseling and personalized work plans. At your first appointment, we will review and discuss your financial documents like bank statements, pay stubs, and tax returns, then pull and discuss your tri-merge credit report from all three credit bureaus, which include your FICO score. You will then prepare a budget and develop an action plan to help you meet your goal of becoming a homeowner. Counseling will help you address and remove barriers to homeownership.
There is a one-time enrollment fee for Homeownership Counseling. Credit report fees are charged each time a new credit report is obtained. If you are inactive for 1 year, you will be required to re-apply and will be assessed a new fee.

Budget and Credit Counseling helps families with financial planning and budgeting techniques and teaches how to recognize and avoid predatory lending. Other areas covered in this program include analyzing spending habits, reducing existing debt, and developing savings strategies.
Counselors also assist clients in understanding and improving credit scores. Improving credit ratings eliminates a major barrier to finding suitable housing and getting better mortgage rates. A credit report is required for all budget and credit counseling clients. Please enter the appropriate payment value for the housing classes in the payment portal here:
