On Friday, the Louisville Asset Building Coalition hosted its second annual Taxathon for low-income families.
Volunteers provided free tax service at the Louisville Urban League. In 48 hours, they booked all 240 spots for the two-day event.
They also have several other organizations and resources available to help people be responsible once they receive their refund.
“It’s a heckuva benefit because it’s free and you are around friendly people in the volunteers. This year we’re very grateful. This is way better than going outside somewhere and take a number,” said Dominic Taylor, who received free tax services.
Although all the spots were filled for Taxathon, volunteers will be at nine other locations. You can call (502) 305-0005 to make an appointment.
